1. General Terms
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the use of www.georgevincent.com (the “Website”) and the purchase of furniture, lighting, vintage pieces, decorative objects, and other merchandise (collectively, “Products”) offered by George Vincent Corp. (“George Vincent,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using the Website or purchasing Products from George Vincent, you agree to these Terms and any applicable policies or written agreements associated with your purchase.
Certain custom commissions, trade purchases, and special orders may be governed by additional written proposals, invoices, or agreements. Where those documents expressly establish different terms, the more specific written agreement will govern the applicable transaction, subject to applicable law.
These Terms do not limit any rights or protections that cannot lawfully be waived.
2. Product Descriptions and Availability
George Vincent offers original furniture and lighting, custom-designed pieces, and a curated selection of vintage and pre-owned furniture and objects.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions, photographs, dimensions, materials, and prices accurately represent the items offered for sale.
However, slight variations in color, texture, grain, finish, and appearance may occur due to natural materials, handcrafted fabrication, lighting conditions, photography, and screen displays.
Dimensions are approximate unless expressly identified as exact. Product availability is subject to change, particularly for unique and one-of-a-kind pieces.
We reserve the right to correct errors in product listings, decline orders, or withdraw merchandise from sale. If an order that has already been paid for cannot be fulfilled, we will notify the buyer and provide an appropriate refund.
3. Vintage and Pre-Owned Objects
Vintage, antique, and pre-owned furniture, lighting, and objects are sold in their existing condition, AS IS, WITH ALL FAULTS, except as otherwise expressly represented in writing or required by applicable law.
Such items may exhibit signs of age, use, and prior ownership, including patina, surface wear, scratches, discoloration, repairs, restoration, structural alterations, or variations in finish.
These characteristics are often inherent to vintage objects and do not necessarily constitute defects.
George Vincent endeavors to disclose material condition issues known to us and to provide photographs reasonably representative of each item.
Buyers are encouraged to request additional photographs, condition reports, or information before purchasing. When available, appointments to inspect individual pieces may be arranged prior to purchase.
4. Authenticity, Attribution, and Provenance
George Vincent sources vintage and collectible pieces through dealers, private collections, auctions, estates, and other sources.
Information regarding a piece’s designer, maker, manufacturer, date, period, origin, materials, attribution, or provenance reflects our good-faith assessment based on available documentation, historical references, physical characteristics, and information supplied by previous owners or sources.
Unless expressly stated as verified in writing, George Vincent does not independently certify the authenticity, attribution, production date, or complete ownership history of vintage and pre-owned objects.
Terminology used in product descriptions is intended to distinguish different levels of attribution:
- “By” or “Designed by” identifies a designer or maker based on the information and evidence available to George Vincent.
- “Attributed to” indicates a possible association with a particular designer or maker that has not been conclusively established.
- “In the style of” identifies stylistic similarities without representing that the piece was produced by the referenced designer or manufacturer.
- “After” generally describes a work based on or derived from an earlier design and does not, by itself, establish authorship or originality.
Where available, supporting documentation may be provided upon request.
No description should be interpreted as a guarantee of authenticity or provenance beyond the express representations made by George Vincent in the applicable product listing or written sale agreement.
Nothing in this section permits or excuses material misrepresentations or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
5. Original Designs and Natural Materials
Original George Vincent furniture, lighting, and objects may incorporate solid wood, wood veneers, parchment, plaster, stone, metal, and other natural or handcrafted materials.
Variations in grain, color, texture, figure, veining, and surface appearance are characteristic of these materials.
Wood may respond to temperature and humidity changes through natural expansion and contraction. Parchment, plaster, and other specialty finishes may develop variations or patina through normal use and aging.
These characteristics do not automatically indicate defective fabrication.
Buyers are responsible for following any care and maintenance instructions supplied with a Product.
George Vincent does not guarantee that natural materials will remain visually identical over time.
This section does not exclude responsibility for defective workmanship or other obligations that cannot lawfully be disclaimed.
6. Custom Furniture and Special Orders
George Vincent may accept commissions for custom furniture, lighting, and other objects.
Custom orders are subject to specifications, materials, dimensions, finishes, pricing, payment schedules, and estimated production timelines established in an approved written proposal or order confirmation.
Production generally begins following approval of the applicable specifications and receipt of any required deposit.
Once fabrication or material procurement has begun, requested changes may result in additional charges or revised completion dates.
Custom orders are generally noncancelable and nonreturnable once approved and placed into production, except as expressly provided in the applicable agreement or required by law.
Any nonrefundable deposit, cancellation charge, or other special condition must be disclosed in the applicable proposal or written agreement before the order is accepted.
Production and delivery dates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise in writing. Any delays will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the agreed terms of sale.
7. Pricing and Payment
All prices are listed in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated.
Applicable sales taxes, shipping, delivery, crating, installation, and other charges will be disclosed before purchase or established in an approved written quote.
Full payment is generally required for merchandise purchased directly through the Website.
Custom commissions and trade purchases may be subject to separate payment terms.
George Vincent reserves the right to correct pricing errors and cancel orders affected by material errors, with a refund of payments received for merchandise not supplied.
Payment must be made using an accepted payment method.
Nothing in these Terms restricts a buyer’s lawful rights to dispute unauthorized charges or exercise protections available under applicable payment-card or consumer-protection laws.
8. Shipping, Delivery, and Installation
Shipping and delivery methods vary depending on the size, weight, value, fragility, and destination of the Product.
Smaller items may be shipped through standard carriers. Furniture and oversized or fragile objects may require specialized freight, crating, or white-glove delivery services.
Estimated shipment or delivery dates will be provided at checkout or in an applicable quote or order confirmation.
Where a covered order cannot ship within the promised timeframe, George Vincent will provide the notices, cancellation options, and refunds required by applicable law.
Buyers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information and informing George Vincent of relevant access restrictions, including stairs, elevators, narrow doorways, building delivery rules, and receiving requirements.
Additional charges resulting from inaccurate information, unsuccessful delivery attempts, storage, or unusual access requirements may apply where disclosed and agreed upon.
Unless expressly included in the purchase, delivery does not include installation, mounting, electrical work, or structural modifications.
Risk of loss or damage passes according to applicable law and the agreed delivery terms. Nothing in these Terms transfers risk to a consumer before the point permitted by applicable law.
9. Inspection and Delivery Damage
Buyers should inspect merchandise promptly upon delivery.
If an item arrives damaged, incomplete, or materially different from the agreed description, please contact George Vincent as soon as reasonably possible at info@georgevincent.com.
Where possible, include photographs of the item, packaging, shipping labels, and any visible damage. Retain the original packaging until the matter has been reviewed.
Prompt reporting helps us investigate shipping damage and coordinate with carriers.
Failure to report an issue within a particular number of hours does not automatically waive any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
George Vincent will review reported issues and provide an appropriate remedy where required by law or the applicable sale agreement.
10. Returns and Cancellations
Due to the specialized, handcrafted, vintage, and often one-of-a-kind nature of our merchandise, all sales are generally final, and George Vincent does not accept discretionary returns or exchanges.
This policy does not eliminate any right to a refund, repair, replacement, cancellation, or other remedy required by applicable law, including for merchandise that is materially misrepresented, defective, damaged, or not delivered.
Custom orders and commissioned pieces are subject to any additional cancellation and refund provisions disclosed in the applicable written agreement.

11. Warranties and Disclaimers
Except for express warranties or representations made in a product listing or written agreement, and to the extent permitted by applicable law, vintage and pre-owned Products are sold AS IS, WITH ALL FAULTS.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, George Vincent disclaims implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose with respect to those Products.
For original and custom-made Products, any applicable express warranty or workmanship commitment will be identified in the relevant listing or written agreement.
No disclaimer in these Terms negates an express warranty, excuses a material misrepresentation, or excludes any warranty or legal obligation that cannot lawfully be disclaimed.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, George Vincent will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from a purchase or use of the Website where such damages may lawfully be excluded.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, personal injury, or other claims or damages for which liability cannot legally be limited or excluded.
The foregoing limitations apply only to the extent permitted by applicable law.
13. Intellectual Property
All original George Vincent designs, photographs, drawings, renderings, text, graphics, trademarks, and other proprietary materials displayed on the Website are owned by George Vincent or used with permission from their respective owners.
No content may be copied, reproduced, distributed, or commercially exploited without the permission of the applicable rights holder, except as permitted by law.
Purchase of a Product does not transfer ownership of any associated intellectual property, design rights, copyrights, trademarks, or reproduction rights.
14. Website Use
Visitors agree not to misuse the Website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or use its content for unlawful purposes.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue portions of the Website and update merchandise listings as reasonably necessary.
We make reasonable efforts to maintain accurate information and functionality but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Website.
15. Privacy
Personal information collected through the Website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Payment processing and certain Website services may be provided by third-party platforms, including Shopify and its payment providers.
Please review the Privacy Policy for information regarding the collection, use, and handling of personal information.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable consumer-protection laws require otherwise.
Any dispute arising from these Terms or a purchase from George Vincent will be subject to the jurisdiction of courts of competent jurisdiction, consistent with applicable law.
Before initiating formal proceedings, buyers are encouraged to contact George Vincent so that the parties may attempt to resolve the matter directly.
Nothing in this section deprives a consumer of a legal right to bring a claim in a jurisdiction or forum otherwise protected by applicable law.
17. Changes to Terms
George Vincent may update these Terms periodically to reflect changes in business operations, products, services, or applicable law.
Updated Terms will be posted on the Website with a revised effective date.
Changes will not retroactively alter the terms of an accepted purchase unless otherwise agreed by the parties or required by law.
18. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be unlawful, invalid, or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or severed to the extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect where legally permissible.
